Chad has granted free movement throughout its territory to nationals of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) member states, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha, announced Thursday in a statement.

Chad is implementing the free movement of CEMAC nationals protocol, following a decision of CEMAC heads of state at their extraordinary summit of June 25, 2013,  Taha added when addressing ambassadors and consular officials accredited to Chad.

“Any national of one of the member states, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, who holds a valid identity document (passport or identity card), no longer requires an entry or exit visa for any stay not exceeding 3 months in Chadian territory,” the Minister declared.

For the purpose of compliance with the measure, he ordered its dissemination to all the administrations in charge of Chad border management.
