Senegalese & Togolese Presidents Join ECOWAS & Institutions to Donate USD1m towards Sierra Leone Disaster

According to official information provided Ecowasbusinessnews.com by the Communications official of Ecowas’ specialized health institution, West African Health Organization(WAHO), Ecowas has made a donation totalling USD1million.


Earlier today, Togolese president and Chair of ECOWAS, Faure Gnassingbé, was, today, in Freetown together with the president of the ECOWAS Commission, Marcel de Souza, including a team of WAHO.

Gnassingbé donated 500,000 USD on behalf of the Togolese government; whereas the ECOWAS Commission donated 200,000 USD. Ecowas’ specialized health institution, WAHO, donated 100,000 USD. Senegalese President Macky Sall donated 100,000 USD.

Finally, the Togo-based ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) also donated 100,000 USD.
