Chairperson of the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption, Hon. Edem Senanu, has called for stronger political party financing laws across Africa to safeguard democracy and fight corruption.
Speaking at a regional convening in Accra, he warned that opaque political financing contributes to corruption, illicit financial flows, and state capture. He urged African countries to strengthen their legal frameworks to improve transparency, accountability, and oversight of campaign financing.
