📋 *Rationale:*
Africa remains the *only continent with regional economic communities (RECs)* that seek to dynamise continental integration.
🚨The *onset of #AfCFTA* has reinvigorated a renewed conversation about RECs, their usefulness and, more importantly, *their comparative advantages* to Africa’s development.
🚨In 2026, in the spirit of celebrating *25 years of the Abuja Treaty* in June 2026, as well as *12 years of East Africa Rising*, will do a soft launch of *#5AURECs*
🚨#5AURECs, like #7AUAgencies, is an initiative by E K Bensah Jr to help position both *EcowaSadcSynergies* & *East Africa Rising* as a _repository of knowledge_ on 5 AU RECs —
