The African Union Commission (AUC) will convene the Joint 9th Session of the Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Finance, Monetary Affairs, Economic Planning and Integration and the 5th Session of the Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals from 20–24 July 2026 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Held under the theme “Financing Africa’s Industrialisation for Sustainable Development,” the meeting will bring together ministers, central bank governors, policymakers, technical experts, development partners, private sector representatives, academia, and civil society to discuss strategies for mobilising financing and accelerating Africa’s industrial transformation in support of Agenda 2063.

The Joint STC Meeting is expected to deliver the following outcomes:

Adoption of a Ministerial Declaration on Financing Resource-Based Industrialisation

Endorsement of a Joint STC Outcome Framework

Adoption of a 12–24 month Action-Oriented Roadmap for implementation

Strengthened coordination between macroeconomic, industrial, trade, and mineral development policies

Enhanced domestic resource mobilisation and reduction of illicit financial flows

Improved implementation of continental industrialisation frameworks

Increased peer learning, knowledge sharing, and regional cooperation

Reinforced alignment with Agenda 2063, AfCFTA, AIDA, and IDDA IV priorities
